Looking for a Twitter Alternative? Join me on Notes!
A simple way to find and talk about the things we all enjoy
When Elon Musk bought Twitter, many - myself included - wondered how it would play out. Few could probably have predicted how pear-shaped it seems to be going, with mass layoffs, stifled conversation, daily weird glitches, and more. While I’ll remain there in some capacity for professional needs, I’m using it a lot less frequently as its future continues to take shape.
As part of that, I’ve been looking at alternatives, including Post, Spoutible, and others - and then Substack (the platform I use for the Pod Chat newsletter you’re very kindly subscribed to) released Notes. Like a stripped down version of Twitter, it’s a way to enjoy short form posts, discussions, recommendations, and more - the best of it, the writer (hey, that’s me!) can ensure there’s no toxicity, harassment, etc, that you might find elsewhere. And, trust me, as a Scotsman, we’re used to throwing out the trash, hehe.
You can find out more about Notes here. In the meantime, I just published my first note:
I plan to use Notes for more conversational things that don’t necessarily fit in the newsletter, like quick questions, feedback, getting to know you more, and basically just having all-round fun. And I’d love for you to join me - here’s how!
Be a part of the Notes community for Pod Chat
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Pod Chat, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Pod Chat can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading, listening to, watching, and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Thanks, and take care!
Danny.
